The American Red Cross is in the community offering assistance to families affected by yesterday’s severe storms and tornado in Polk and Jasper counties.  Currently, the Red Cross is providing sheltering to displaced residents, meals, health services, spiritual carel and emotional support for those with immediate, disaster-caused needs. The Red Cross is also helping disaster victims by connecting them to other needed community resources. Families whose homes have sustained damage by this disaster and are in need of a safe place to stay should call 1-866-526-8300.
