As Hurricane Harvey approached the Gulf Coast, and landfall appeared to be near Corpus Christi and eventually Houston, Direct Energy and CPL Retail Energy launched a fundraising campaign for the Red Cross and pledged to match funds up to $50,000.
In addition to pledging gifts to help the communities they live and work in, Direct Energy employees volunteered their time at local shelters, food banks and in flood-damaged homes.
“We will never forget Hurricane Harvey. Nor should we. Direct Energy and our family of brands stand by the residents of Texas during this devastating time and salute the courage and resilience of fellow Texans and emergency response workers from across the U.S. who have come to help,” said Jessica Mahaffey, Vice President, Corporate Affairs.
Direct Energy’s commitment to Red Cross disaster recovery efforts will help build more resilient communities in the Texas Gulf Coast.
