The American Red Cross needs community volunteers to assist families hard-hit by flooding at tornadoes at 3 locations in and around Houston over the weekend.
The following positions are available:
(24) Registration Volunteers on Saturday, November 7
(24) Registration Volunteers on Sunday, November 8
Registration Volunteers will greet displaced family members, verify their level of damage based on information provided by the American Red Cross and escort the families to the proper location within the facility.
(6) Bulk Distribution Volunteers on Saturday, November 7

Bulk Distribution volunteers will assist families in gathering supplies such as tarps, squeegees, mops, shovels, rakes and other necessary items. Volunteers may be asked to carry items weighing upwards of 25 pounds.
Due to the nature of the disaster, one orientation will be provided at each location at 9 a.m. Shifts end at 6 p.m. Volunteers need to be available for the complete shift. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided at no charge. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Once your application is received and all application steps are completed a representative from the American Red Cross will confirm your volunteer location prior to Saturday.
Current locations include La Porte, Friendswood/Alvin, East Houston. If you have a location preference, your Red Cross representative will assist you in getting scheduled closest to your preferred area.
