For Melanie Mott, blood donation is more than a good deed, it’s a family tradition. It began with her mother, who regularly donated blood and brought Melanie and her sister along when they were kids. Watching their mom give back left a lasting impact, and once they were old enough, both daughters proudly followed in her footsteps.

When asked why they donate, Melanie’s answer is simple: “To help people.”

That simple act has added up in a big way. Melanie has donated approximately seven gallons of blood, while her sister has donated about five. Together with their mother, the three donate as a team and have helped impact nearly 500 lives.
