At just 15 years old, she was taken from her home near Leningrad to a German labor camp, separated from her stepmother and siblings. She never saw them again. While no definitive answers were found, they were able to bring Cloudya and her family the results of the search with care and compassion. The effort showed not only the dedication of volunteers, but also the importance of acknowledging loss and memory, even when closure cannot be reached.

Cloudya’s story reflects the very heart of the Red Cross’ mission: to bring humanity, hope, and dignity to those who have suffered through war.
