Logan was driving home from a family dinner at a relative’s house when he got a call from his roommate the apartment complex was on fire. The drive home was fraught with anxiety. Was his cat Einstein okay? Would his extensive collection of computers and game consoles be lost?

Arriving at the complex, he was devastated to discover everything was lost in the fire—his grandfather’s jacket, prized gator boots and cowboy hat, his game consoles and all his electronics. The fire had been so hot, the metal computer cases were melted. Fortunately, his cat was okay, suffering only from some smoke inhalation. In looking through the charred remains, Logan started to feel his lungs filling with residual smoke. The Red Cross Nurse who followed up with him determined he was okay, advising him to seek assistance if he later had difficulty breathing.

Fortunately, about a week before the fire, Logan had taken pictures of his room. He is confident this will help him with his insurance claim. He is grateful for whatever assistance the Red Cross can provide.

Logan was not the only person affected by this terrible fire, there are over 300 people, including children, that have lost all there belongings. If you would like to assist those affected by the fire like Logan please donate to redcross.org or call us at 1-800-Red-Cross.
